over forty years of exemplary service, the Greater New Bedford Choral
Society is faced with the retirement of its beloved Director.
The search committee is currently seeking qualified individuals to
lead us beginning in the fall of 2017. Applicants should possess
education and experience in choral directing, arranging and orchestral
conducting. An encyclopedic knowledge of classical music, both secular
and sacred, and contemporary composers is also required. Experience in
composing original choral works will be considered as a substantial plus.
Qualified applicants will be invited to meet the chorus and audition at
a live rehearsal in the GNBCS spring semester. Interested persons are
invited to contact
SearchCommittee@gnbcs.org for further information.
The GNBCS celebrated its 50th
anniversary of exemplary service to the community in 2015. We are
an adult, volunteer chorus focusing on classical works supported by the
Massachusetts Cultural Council through local community grants,
member dues and generous donations. We have collaborated with
other local choral groups and the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra to perform
various larger works. Additional information can be found on our web
site, GNBCS.org and Facebook page. ______________________
